Well it’s all over the map with this hot cocoa maker.  It has a lot of capacity, and seems to work really well for a lot of people, and not so well for others.  A lot of people complain that it is hard to clean and that other than that, they like it.  One of the Amazon reviews goes into detail on how to clean it effectively – worth checking out.  Could possibly be worth it because of it’s unique capabilities.

Here you have the Nostalgia Electrics HCM700 Retro Series Hot Chocolate Maker – it does look cool and it has some nice features.  The foam or “froth” feature is great to get that foam on top – try getting that with a microwave
You can use it for making hot chocolate, hot cocoa, hot chai, lattes, etc.
It is easy to clean.  The main drawback seems to be that it has no thermal cutoff feature.
If you are an Amazon Prime member, I think you’ll find the price to be very tempting.

The Mr. Coffee Cocomotion Hot Chocolate Maker has a lot of things going for it:  It has a four cup capacity, it has a thermal shutoff valve, it is quiet and it is reliable.  Plus it is reasonably priced.

One thing that you have to get used to is that it remains as one unit – to clean the tank you have to not immerse it in water, because it is not detachable.

Also, although it does a great job mixing and lots of people are VERY happy with it, people who are expecting some kind of super froth won’t get it with the Mr. Coffee Cocomotion Hot Chocolate Maker

- but mere mortals who just love the quietness and convenience and reliability go with this hot chocolate maker.
